Cities left in the dark amid major electricity breakdown across Pakistan

Cities across Pakistan were left in the dark as a major electricity breakdown occurred late Saturday night.
The cities facing disruption included Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh, Narowal, Bhakkar, Kabirwala, Khanewal, Bahawalpur and Sukkur.
The breakdown extended as far as Azad Kashmir. Furthermore, according to
Geo News Nadeem Kausar, 29 districts of Balochistan were without power.
He said mobile and internet services have also been affected due to the breakdown.

Non-major makes board appointments 08 January 2021
ME Bank has appointed two new members to its board following the retirement of its non-executive director.
The bank has appointed former Westpac executive John Arthur and AMP Capital executive David Atkin as non-executive directors, effective 1 January.
The appointments have followed the retirement of ME Bank non-executive director John Nesbitt after four years on the board.
Mr Arthur was previously the chief operating officer and head of group services at Westpac prior to his retirement in 2016. He was previously a non-executive director of businesses including Australian Funds Management, CSR, and Investa Property Group.
He is currently the chair of Sydney Metro.
Protest planned in Tigard after deadly police shooting January 07 2021
No officers were injured in the incident near Southwest Hall Boulevard and Bonita Road, but one man was declared dead at the scene.
Tigard police are confirming that their officers were involved in a deadly shooting where a man was pronounced dead at the scene near Southwest Hall Boulevard and Bonita Road Wednesday evening. According to the Tigard Police Department s Twitter account, the Washington County Major Crimes Team is investigating the incident and the Washington County District Attorney s Office is on the scene as well.
No officers were injured.
Earlier this evening, Hall Boulevard between Bonita Road and Greensward Lane had been shut down due to the incident, police reported.
